Australian patent infringement search

This type of search generally identifies patents held by a competitor and designed for clients that want to make sure that their product will not infringe on the rights of another from use of the product. Prices for an infringement search are estimated on a case by case basis. At KingSearch, we are happy to provide an obligation free quote.

Novelty search

This type of search attempts to identify patents to determine if the invention meets the requirements of patentability. Our team will examine patent databases using International Patent Classification (IPC) as well as relevant keywords.

Validity search

Although similar to novelty searching, validity searches are limited to a particular date and conducted with the aim of locating prior art to invalidate a pre-existing patent. If you are being sued or threatened with a suit based on an existing patent, a validity search may uncover prior art invalidating that patent.

Patent proprietor/inventor name search

These types of searches are useful to keep up to date on a particular competitor, assignee or inventor by examining local and overseas patent records. A quick turnaround on these types of searches can generally be accommodated.

Family search

This type of search identifies the first or 'basic' patent and subsequent patents claiming the same priority date. Patent databases such as 'World Patents Index', 'INPADOC' are searched and a quick turnaround can generally be accommodated.

Patent watch service

At KingSearch, our search specialists can develop a customised patent watching service that will allow you to monitor your competitor's activities. Search results are delivered weekly, monthly or quarterly - according to your needs. We can also maintain a watch on an existing patent application to monitor critical dates and changes.
